Royal Gorge Resort Homes Meet IRC 2006 Codes
Every home at Royal Gorge Ranch & Resort is built to meet or exceed the International Residential Code (IRC) 2006 standards. This is not a marketing claim — it is a structural commitment to the safety and longevity of every residence on the property.
Our TOPOS Homes are engineered for Colorado's demanding mountain environment. The steel post-and-beam super-roof system handles snow loads of 40 pounds per square foot, ensuring structural integrity through even the heaviest winter storms. Wind resistance is rated at 120 miles per hour, providing protection against the high-altitude gusts that are common in the Royal Gorge region.
In addition to structural requirements, all homes meet 2018 energy code standards. Combined with the net-zero energy design philosophy of TOPOS Homes, residents benefit from lower utility costs and a smaller environmental footprint. The 9-foot ceilings, 8-foot tall glass doors, and elevated Lanai decks are part of the same building system.
Standard 30-year financing is available for all home purchases, making the transition to mountain living accessible through conventional lending channels. Homes can have a main floor of up to 1,300 square feet.
Building codes exist to protect homeowners. At Royal Gorge Ranch & Resort, we treat them as a baseline, not a ceiling.
