Local Media Announcement
The land in Fremont County near the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park that for decades was used as a movie set for old westerns and a frontier-themed tourist attraction has been purchased by Ty Seufer, who plans to turn it into a retreat for mountain bikers and hikers.
The property served as the Buckskin Joe frontier town and movie set for decades before it was sold to billionaire Bill Koch in 2010, who moved the Old West town to his Western Slope property.
Plans have changed since this announcement. Today the plan is 152 homesites of about three acres each across five eco areas, with lots priced at $200,000. See the Lots page for the current lot map.
